Bands may come and bands may go - but many great musicians have lasted, and maintain a living playing music. Many play rock and roll, blues, country and folk. Some have left and returned, some have gone, and never looked back. What ever path you decide to take in your musical career, right now - likely, you are in control. Otherwise you don’t have someone telling you what you should do. All of it is up to you. Your booking, your promoting, your rehearsing, and if you have a band - your coordinating all involved. Dates... if you play with musicians who play with various acts - this can be a juggling act.
Here are some suggestions to keep you organized:
Keep an online calendar
Everyone is likely online these days. A central location where all band members can see each others gigs is helpful. JamBase, Facebook Pages, Google+, Outlook, can all be good tools. Have a visible interface for you and the people you perform with.
Booking Agent
In most cases there is one person booking for your band. If more than one are booking - your communication is a centralized key to your overall success. Don’t take it for granted, and work with them as a partner. And if you are playing.
Don’t be an ass
You’ll just embarrass yourself and your bandmates by getting too drunk, missing notes or beats. Remember you always represent the musicians of Cleveland, as you are either building or tearing down that reputation with your actions. Respect property, if you want to tear something down or blow something up, make sure you pay for it up front or get the proper permits needed.
More to Come
There’s plenty more on this topic.. share you’re thoughts below!

You're no rockstar, far from it at that...we have ONE guy that's made a name for himself so big i don't even have to mention it, and he got there by sticking to his own thing and not letting anyone else get in the way of his ideas. Whether you like his music or not is your personal choice, but when you lack the talent to keep up with the guy both lyrically and rhythmically, it's pointless to do a dis track, talk shit on the internet, whine about it on his page, etc...and when i see locals doing the same to other locals, it just makes me feel even stronger about this. Cleveland needs a SCENE. we don't need one guy carrying the city on his back with the rest of us just riding the coattails. This goes for bands too. too much immature crap going on anymore. we need to get our shit together because as it stands now i don't think we deserve to be recognized as a city of music with the likes of LA, Atlanta, NYC, Nashville, etc. Everyone needs to start supporting each other, now.
Like · · Reshare · about an hour ago near Cleveland ·
Feel free to call me on it when I see you next, but most of all, thanks again to everybody. Cleveland is the greatest music town on earth, and I'm proud to know and work with all of you.

For all of the fine folks (especially The Waffle House Gang) who troupe out to see me and my friends do out thing every week, in all kinds of weather, and for all kinds of reasons, know this- YOU are why it happens. Without people to listen to and support live music, it doesn't get played. Buy yourself a beer from me, you deserve it!
